This is a full-time job and working hours are flexible, involving weekend availability and rotating night shifts. The duties of the position involve:
- Perform the responsibilities identified by the Security Management and Security Officer Leader in conducting guard posts;
- Understand and execute all post orders assigned to the guard position;
- Support special events, emerging activities and ad hoc assignments as designated by Security Management;
- Understand and comply with Blue Origin badge policies to properly categorize and issue visitor badges where required;
- Respond to emergency situations, such as fires, medical situations or the presence of suspicious persons;
- Conduct roving patrols as assigned;
- Be willing and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, overtime, weekends and rotating shifts.
Job requirements
The requirements to apply for this position are:
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Hold or be eligible for a valid state security officer license.
- Possess a valid driver’s license;
- Ability and willingness to occasionally remain in a static position for long periods;
- Must be a US citizen or national, US permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or legally admitted to the US as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Preferably hold an associate degree;
- Have 2+ years of experience in military contracts, law enforcement, overseas security, or corporate security;
- Ability to deal with critical incidents;
- CPR/First Aid Certification;
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Availability to work weekends is required. The duties of the position include:
- Dwelcome all customers, visitors and suppliers and assist them in locating employees in stores;
- Provide customers with electrically handicapped shopping carts and provide assistance in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts;
- Examine and properly mark properties being brought into stores;
- React as needed and help deal with any situation such as shoplifting, medical emergencies and bad weather;
- Monitor installations and parking lots on foot or in a vehicle. Directing traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic while complying with parking regulations;
- Helping customers and employees with vehicle breakdowns and blockages and retrieving shopping carts in parking areas;
- Conduct preliminary investigations, audits and security surveys and document findings.
Job requirements
The requirements to apply for this position are:
- Desirable High School Diploma/GED;
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record;
- Stamina to stand for long periods of time;
- CPR certification preferred;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
- Certification in implantation of OC foam (Oleoresin Capsicum) within one year of employment and maintain certification standards;
- Satisfactorily complete the NFM Response to Resistance training course within ninety days of employment or earn certification in PPCT Defensive Tactics training within one year of employment;
- Ability to obtain a non-commissioned security officer license within thirty days of work (Texas only);
- Ability to work nights, weekends and/or early mornings based on business needs.
