Responsibilities of Electrician jobs:

Will be responsible for solving and solving complex issues in all areas of the plant. Perform design work on upgrades, modifications, and engineering projects. Proficiency in cross-platform logical design. Maintain and restore the operating state of the equipment at any time when a problem occurs. Provides documentation on engineering designs, upgrades, and modifications. Recommend and initiate improvements, including follow-up to complete implementation. Provides technical assistance to service technicians in identifying and solving electrical/electronic problems.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to production equipment failures and perform necessary repairs on electronic equipment to maintain and restore equipment uptime.

Monitor changes/updates and keep programs up to date. Assist in engineering design and inspection of new equipment.

Track technologies like PLCs, variable frequency drives, instrumentation, Wonderware and more. Train technicians and electricians to improve troubleshooting and overall skill levels. A printout is preserved to reflect the current state.

Research, review, recommend and implement improved control systems, operating methods, PM and replacement parts.

Mandatory:

Possess an associate degree in electrical and/or electrician certification OR three (3) years experience as an electrician in an industrial/manufacturing facility in a private, public, government or military setting

Wanted:

Ability to read, understand and update electronic print

CMRT – Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician ou Journeyman Certificate

UNM Facilities Management is excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Master Electrician to join their Area 2 Maintenance Department. This position focuses on the addition and modification of electrical systems within secondary circuits, specifically suitable for systems operating at 1000 volts or less.

Facilities Management is dedicated to ensuring the care and maintenance of the physical campus environment, which encompasses over 12 million square feet of indoor space and 680 acres of beautifully maintained land.

As a Master Electrician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the electrical infrastructure that supports the university’s operations and ensures a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Recruitment conditions

Possession of a valid New Mexico driver’s license is a requirement for this job.

Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained within 6 months of the date of hire.

Successful applicants must pass a post-employment and pre-employment medical and physical history examination.

All regular and non-occasional positions that fall into this category are represented by the category union and are subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Employees who provide servicesor work in patient care, or clinical areas must meet the University’s flu vaccination requirements.

Qualification minimum

High school diploma or GED; Minimum of 6 years of experience directly related to assigned roles and responsibilities. Holds a current New Mexico Electrical Journeyman license (EE98J) and a second current New Mexico Electrical Journeyman license.

A degree completed at an accredited institution above the minimum educational requirements may replace annual experience.

Priority Qualification

Have an EE-98 or EL-1J license

Experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment

Work experience in a healthcare environment

Experience keeping accurate maintenance records on a portable recording device (iPad)

Lead subordinate technicians on complex repairs/provide structured training
